President’s Message

Welcome Dillard Alums (Bleu Devils), friends and supporters,

Thank you for visiting our webpage. I am proud to serve as the President of the Dillard University Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Association, INC (DC Metro).  I am following in the place of women and men who held the belief a strong alumni chapter was an active and engaging organization. While the word “president” is a title, I am proud to serve you with a group of Dillard Alums committed to fulfilling the mission and purpose of this Association.  The DC Metro is an award-winning, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and serves Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.  We proudly represent over 300 alumni in the DMV metro area.

Our Purpose: The primary purpose of the DC Metro Chapter is to promote the welfare, growth and development of Dillard University, and to provide funds for students from our local area needing financial assistance.

Our Work: As Dillard alum, we share a special bond with our beloved alma mater.   We encourage continued support of Dillard through:

• Our high school student recruitment efforts

• Local fundraising events, to increase available financial resources for students pursuing higher education at Dillard University

• Alumni giving back to Dillard University

• Increasing membership in the DC Metro Chapter and the Dillard University National Alumni Association (DUNAA).  Your national and local alumni association membership will ensure the success of our students and financially support the University. 

• Education has long since been the key to our success as a people.  The nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been the place through which educational endeavors and connections have emerged.  Dillard graduates continue to make an indelible mark that benefits our local and global communities.  As Dillard grads, we remain Dillard Proud, Dillard Strong and Dillard Forever!!
